Lunch by Miss Food Fairy

On Friday 12th July, I had the pleasure of preparing lunch for the staff at my husband’s work in Eltham, Victoria. On the menu was a Wonton broth and Potstickers.

This was my first time preparing a lunch for 10 people! I have prepared food for 4 or 5 people before but never 10.

And I loved it!!

I loved hearing everyone’s feedback at how good the food was – how the flavours were amazing, and even how MFF’s dumplings are way better than the place they regularly go to – that was quite a compliment and I was very surprised (thank you).

But the biggest compliment of all was seeing everyone enjoy their food and leaving not a crumb on the plate!

Preparing for this lunch began on the Monday. The wonton wrappers are something that you can prepare ahead of time as they stay in the fridge for a week or two. I find making the dumplings are a lot easier if the wonton wrappers have been in the fridge for at least a day or two. That was the hardest bit out of the way!

Making the dumplings take no time at all. The most important thing to remember is the fillings should be made one day ahead of when you need them so the flavours have time to combine together. I had made the majority of dumplings at home during the week and froze them. I prepared the rest of the dumplings on the day, in case any of the staff would like to make some with me, but they all got busy!

What a BIG day! What a wonderful day! I had so much fun. Everything went smoothly and everyone enjoyed their food! What more could I ask for!

I look forward to the next exciting lunch!

PS. I just wanted to say thank you to all the staff for the beautiful bunch of flowers.
