My food journey in 2014 (and goals for 2015!)

2014 was an amazing year for some great inspiration in my food journey. I look at everything I’ve accomplished, everyone I now call friends and think what a wonderful year my little blog has had. I’m so glad to have had you being part of it. Would love it if you joined me as we look at Miss Food Fairy’s food journey for 2014 and some new ideas I hope to achieve in 2015.

My accomplishments for 2014

MissFoodFairy's 2014 accomplishments

The most beautiful and exciting time for me was making 1500 new friends worldwide! I’ve enjoyed sharing my home cooked meals with you and I’m glad you enjoy reading and learning with me. All of you inspire me and make me smile every day.

Completing my Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery was such a rewarding experience. I learnt so many amazing things that I never would have dreamed about doing at home by myself – sharpening knives, pizza & pasta dough, crème patissiere, filleting fish, deboning a whole chicken, sacher torte, chocolate glaze, butterflying lamb, Danish pastry, soufflés, peking duck and Florentine tarts, to name but a few. I promise to share with you these recipes in hope that they inspire you too.

My goals for 2015
This year I’ve decided to write down my goals, so I know what I hope to accomplish by the end of the year. I’ve been thinking about doing all of these for a while now, just never been organised enough to do them, or maybe I was just time poor. Let me know what you think:

  • Video blogs – showcasing my recipes
  • Finding a recipe layout to make it easier for you to print my recipes
  • Post at least twice a week (unless I’m working)
  • Trying more desserts – I’m more a savoury girl but I’ll try
  • Investing in a camera stand – important for better quality photos
  • Going through all my food magazines and ripping out the recipes that inspire me. I’ve got so many magazines that I’ve been ‘collecting’ – they’re heavy & taking up space
  • Trying my hand at my mother-in-law’s pudding, to keep the tradition going
  • Finding that perfect, moist banana cake – it’s driving me crazy!
  • If time permits, creating Christmas meals early enough to share with you all
  • Working in commercial kitchens or working at events
  • Always replying to every comment, tweet and post – I love hearing from you, it makes my day!
  • Get more involved in linkups, parties and new food ventures like cooking clubs
  • New props for photos
  • And finally, learning more about food photography

WOW! I didn’t think my list was that big! I’m definitely going to be busy in 2015! What are your goals for 2015? I would love to hear them in the comments below or even just a smile would be perfect.

And great list for 2015 Nicole 🙂 Now, I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment, but I do think the banana bread on my blog is pretty moist – I’m not sure if it’s what you are looking for but I have made it as a cake, just putting it out there!! hehehe

P.S. I have a little crush on Rick Stein, I could listen to him talk all day long
